CHRIS WINS MERCY
Chris had been crushing on Mercy since their first year at Benue State University. He had noticed her beautiful gap teeth and her infectious smile, and he couldn't help but be drawn to her. Chris had always been shy, and he had never mustered up the courage to ask Mercy out, despite his intense feelings for her.
One day, in their first year, Chris finally decided to take the plunge and ask Mercy out. He had rehearsed the words over and over again in his head, and when he finally approached her, his heart was beating so fast he thought it might burst out of his chest.
"Mercy, I've been meaning to tell you something," Chris said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me?"
Mercy smiled kindly at Chris but shook her head. "I'm sorry, Chris. I don't think that would be a good idea," she said.
Chris was crushed. He couldn't understand why Mercy didn't feel the same way he did. He spent the rest of the year trying to move on, but every time he saw Mercy, his heart skipped a beat.
As the years went on, Chris and Mercy became good friends. They were in the same study group and often studied together. Chris couldn't help but continue to crush on Mercy, but he never brought up his feelings again. He didn't want to risk losing her as a friend.
It wasn't until their third year, during the second semester of their 300 level, that Chris finally mustered up the courage to ask Mercy out again. They were studying together in the library, and Chris couldn't help but stare at Mercy's beautiful gap teeth.
"Mercy, I know we've been friends for a long time, but I have to tell you something," Chris said, his heart pounding in his chest. "I still have feelings for you, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in going out with me?"
Mercy looked up from her book and smiled at Chris. "I've been waiting for you to ask me that, Chris," she said. "I'd love to go out with you."
Chris was over the moon. He couldn't believe that Mercy had finally said yes. They went on their first date that weekend, and from that moment on, they were inseparable.
They continued to study together and support each other through the rest of their time at Benue State University. Chris was grateful that he had never given up on his feelings for Mercy, and he knew that he would always cherish their relationship, and most importantly, her beautiful gap teeth.
