THE POWER OF UNITY

Unity has a greater power  that bond people to accomplish whatever they want to do, l never knew this, until while  trooping  with my father ( Tsegba).

Tsegba who one could not spend a minute with without getting a moral story to learn from, as usual saw some ants dragging a deadly  grasshopper and showed me.

I turned and look at it confusably, he  then nodded his head gently  and smiled  deeply, and pointed at the little creatures ( the ants) I look at them as they were dragging the dead grasshopper to their hole.

Yet  I did not anticipate the meaning,  He look at me once again and said: "VANENGE" my son I hope you are confused?" yes baba I replied teasing at him. He  went in the bush and cut off some little sticks in hundred pieces and tied them in a bundle, and  asked me to use my hands and break them. I tried my very best to broke the bundle of the little sticks but I was unable. I told him that I have tried with all my strength to no avail, then he smiled and started: " VANENGE my son, there is power in unity, I know you were confused when I showed you some ants dragging a grasshopper to their hole.

Now listen, can a single ant drag a grasshopper to it hole? Never! But in Unity they are dragging the grasshopper to their hole, what any of them will not do when it is alone. I as well instructed you to cut off the pieces of stick tied in a bundle and you were unable. I remember when I removed one piece of stick out of the bundle, you broke it without struggling. Same thing apply to human, when a group of people think alike, they end up achieving what they wouldn't have achieved if they are separate. When a group of people are in team work, it will be difficult for anything to defeat them just as a bundle of stick you were not able to break.

Whenever humans do not value importance of others, they lack strength just as that single piece of stick you broke.  Ensure you value each other, and life will be easier for you; unity is powerful and you should emulate it, he concluded.
